                                             Foundation Year Department

Vision:  to be one of the leading universities in providing students with background knowledge and capability to pursue their education in a particular field in any higher educational institution in Cambodia.

Mission: to provide a broad understanding of general and specialized knowledge necessary for students to enhance their education into variety of major in higher education with quality, morality and capability.

Goal: Our goals are:
-    to effectively enhance students’ knowledge and capability.
-    to develop curriculum in compliance with the rules and requirements of the accreditation committee of Cambodia (ACC) and the Ministry of Education, Youths and Sports (MOYS).
-    to recruit and retain qualified lecturers
-    to enrich and modernize teaching materials and facilities.
 
Objective:
-    to achieve new enrollment of 2800 students in Academic year 2009 -   2012:
-    300 students for 2009-2010 academic year.
-    1000 students for 2010-2011 academic year.
-    1500 students for 2011-2012 academic year.

Action Plan: to reach the goals and objectives mentioned above, we are going to
take the following actions:

-    select eligible students for new foundation year classes.
-    encourage student to learn to work in group and to do self-research.
-    strengthen students’ disciplines and closely monitor the learning and teaching activities.
-    encourage teacher’s participation in discussions, research, and curriculum development.
-    widen free internet service to make it fully accessed by students’ and teachers in doing their research.
-    keep updating and improving the resources in the library.
-    further invest in training for both teachers and academic staff in order to that they can catch up with the development of the society.
-    Improve the mechanism of evaluation on staff, teachers and students.
-    keep updating the information technology system and modernizing the school facilities.
-    build a well-equipped computer lab and language lab for students to practice.
-    provide student and teachers with more research materials such as: books, magazines, newspapers, journal … etc.
-    maintain and further build good connection with other high educational institutions, business communities and private agencies so that our teachers and students can exchange their knowledge and experience with the others.
